The Client
Wessex Water is the regional water and sewage treatment business serving an area of the south west of England, covering 10,000 square kilometres including Dorset, Somerset, Bristol, most of Wiltshire and parts of Gloucestershire and Hampshire. It treats and supplies drinking water to 1.2 million people and provides sewerage services to about 2.5million.
The Background
Wessex Water has its own in-house creative team tasked to deliver a wide range of printed communications including billing stationery, billing inserts, leaflets,reports and magazines. With more than 1.2 million customers, print volumes are generally high and obviously the quality of both product and service is essential and the environmental ramifications areequally important too!
It’s a poor use of Wessex Water time and resources to chase a multitude of out-of-house print and distribution companies and pull staff focus away from the company’s core business. A solution was therefore needed to provide a fast, responsive and flexible service that wouldundertake the print process related legwork, allowing people within Wessex Water to focus on their own area of value-creation.
